The Helios was simply ahead of its time. Produced in 2008, it is the predecessor to the likes of the Vulcan or Avenger SS. Helios is an understable distance driver with significant high-speed turn and moderate low speed fade making it ideal for high drifting turnovers, hyzer-flips, low ceiling screamers, and rollers. The unique trait of the Helios persisting to this day is its large 21.7 cm diameter, which makes it PDGA legal to 180 grams, meaning added inertia for penetrating headwind and thick grass. Fire Grade Resin (FGR) was specifically blended for a combination of durability and grip in the typical cold wet conditions Canadian players charge against for the better half of the year!
Second run FGR Helios were molded with the intention of getting lighter weights and a slightly higher parting line to increase low speed fade. They were also stamped exclusively with the “Snap Discsports” logo. Run two was much smaller than the first.
